Glad you tried it. Sorry you didn't find it enjoyable. Yes, it's fairly bland [depends on the cheese/sauce used]. It's basically just pasta in a cheese sauce. Nothing overly elaborate or fancy. It's good for cheese-lovers. ^_^ It'll vary a bit based on what kind you get (boxed is super-bland and just uses cheese-flavored powder, the canned stuff you got is maybe a slight step up and may actually use some cheese sauce, but, IMO, homemade baked mac and cheese is the best, with good quality cheese, milk/cream, maybe some black pepper or some herbs and spices, bread crumb topping, or more grated cheese on top and broiled for a couple minutes before serving). But, it's not a "spicy" dish, just a cheesy one.
